Actor Muna Obiekwe’s death has lead to the creation of new health Insurance for actors

Good leaders are proactive. Unfortunately, there are very few leaders now and most of them only react to create change after tragic events happen.

Following the death of Muna Obiekwe, the Nigerian Entertainment Lecture Series, and initiators of the Nigerian Entertainment Industry Health Trust Fund and supervised by the Actors Guild, are accelerating work on the Nigerian Entertainment Industry Health Insurance Scheme.

The Health Insurance Scheme will reportedly cover general consultation, surgeries, evacuation, physiotherapy, eye care & surgery, advanced radiological investigation, accident & emergency, hospital admission and many more.

The health trust fund has also been revised to take care of all terminal ailments including kidney diseases right from the dialysis stages.

It’s easier said than done. Hope it will not just be lip service but actually implement and cover all actors to benefit from it
