This may be a very big surprise to many that ace movie producer and talented role interpreter has been preaching on the ills of gender violence.
The fair actor who came to limelight when he acted Walata in a blockbuster many years ago led members of the Movie Ambassadors to a one-day workshop organised by Public Affairs Section of the United States Consulate in Lagos on gender-based violence.
The actor when called upon for a short remark, urged women to constantly and continuously press for their rights by asking women in position of power to do the needful so as to end the scourge of gender-based violence in the society.
Balogun who was alleged by his ex-lover Funke Adesiyan to have been severally maltreated has probably turned a new leaf as he sat comfortably through the programme as speakers spoke on the ills of gender-based violence in the society.
It would also be recalled that his estranged wife and mother of his two children Fathia Balogun had equally cited domestic violence as one of the reasons she parted ways with him.
Narrating how he hit her severally, Adesiyan had told journalists that Balogun derived pleasure and satisfaction in battering women.
One can only expect that after listening to the thought-provoking talks on the adverse effects of gender-based violence at the workshop, Balogun will not only turn a new leaf but take the message as far as he can.
